Many thanks to all those who helped with VBS this year!

Night 1

We heard the story of Moses and the Burning Bush, sang songs, played games, made burning bush nightlights, and filled pencil pouches with supplies for children served by enCircle. Thank you to the Weaver family for providing dinner!

Night 2

We had fun learning about the Fiery Furnace–how God protected Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Our activities included making bracelets that spelled out “God Protects Me,” did some science experiments about protection, and had fun with an obstacle course involving a fiery furnace.

Night 3

We learned about the Holy Spirit and Pentecost. We had so much fun decorating Pentecost hats, ‘racing’ while balancing tongues of fire on our heads, using the parachute to feel the wind, and doing experiments with Pastor Becca while we ate ice cream. Thank you to Pat Welling for providing our dinner.

Night 4

We heard the story of Jesus having breakfast on the beach with his disciples. We made ‘tie-dye’ fish to put in the bagged lunches for Richmond Friends of the Homeless, and we played games to unscramble messages from Jesus. We ended the night with a real campfire, complete with s’mores and campfire songs led by Hazel.
