Rev. Kathryn L. Pocalyko was ordained and installed as Pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in the Virginia Synod’s Richmond Conference on March 14, 2015.
Raised in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, she is a cradle Lutheran and the eighth generation of Protestant clergy in her family. Born just fourteen days before the ELCA came into being, she is a graduate of the Fairfax County schools and was a United States Senate Page.
Pastor Katie graduated from Princeton University magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2010 with an A.B. degree in English and a certificate in Spanish. She studied at Universidad de León in Spain, walked the Camino de Santiago as a pilgrim, traveled in the Middle East, and worked for the European Commission at the Roma Rights Centre in Budapest. Pastor Katie is fluent in Spanish and can also preach in the Spanish language.
She received her M.Div. degree, Diploma in Lutheran Studies, and Institute of Sacred Music Diploma from Yale Divinity School in 2013. At Yale she was both a congregational fellow and a ministry fellow of the Fund for Theological Education (FTE). She served in rural ministry in the Virginia Synod’s Page Conference and spent significant time in monastic cloister with Cistercian Nuns. She completed her congregational internship at Advent Lutheran Church in Manhattan, in the Metropolitan New York Synod.
Pastor Katie is married to Daniel Silverman, an administrator at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Emily Cruciata is our Administrative Assistant. A native of Midlothian, Emily has several years of office experience. She feels the most important part of her job is to assist the pastor and to be a bridge of communication between the pastor and the congregation. Emily grew up and is a member at Southminster Presbyterian Church, our neighbor on Hull Street Road.

Interim Choir Director
Dr. Fran Coleman holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance. She is a professional soprano and voice teacher in the Richmond area. Fran sings regularly with VA Opera. She is a founding artistic director for Capitol Opera Richmond and deputy director with Classical Revolution RVA. Fran teaches at Longwood University and she has a private voice studio in Midlothian, Songbird’s Studio, LLC.

A native of Taiwan, pianist Michelle Huang has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist throughout the U.S. as well as in the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, and Taiwan. She has appeared as guest artist in recitals and has given lectures, workshops, and master classes in universities and music conferences.
Michelle received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Master of Music at the University of Tennessee, and Doctor of Music in piano performance at the Florida State University. Her principle teachers include Barbara Rowan, David Northington, and Read Gainsford. She currently resides in Richmond, VA where she has a piano studio.

Dela Hayes is in our nursery every Sunday morning. She greets all our children with smiles and hugs and maintains a clean, orderly nursery environment. Children are most welcome in worship, but Dela serves those who’d like a moment to play. She’s happy to have your little one in her care for as long or as short as you’d like.
